Rangers Supporters Erskine Appeal reach amazing total of over £170,000 in 2011

10-February-2012

The Rangers Supporters Erskine Appeal have reached the amazing target of £170,646.11p in 2011.  A massive thank you to all the Rangers supporters for helping the RSEA raise money for Erskine’s brave veterans.

Rangers kindly allowed the cheque to be presented to Erskine on Sunday 5th February at the Rangers vs. Dundee Utd match at Ibrox.  Ian and Avril Nicol of the RSEA and Steven Naismith of Rangers presented the cheque to Alan Moss of Erskine.

The Rangers Supporters Erskine Appeal was formed in the summer of 2007 with the intention of raising funds and raising awareness of the Erskine home amongst Rangers Supporters.  The original aim was to raise £1000 to take veterans along to a football match.  To date the RSEA has raised the outstanding total of £358,993. 05p since its conception.

Alan Moss, Erskine community fundraiser said “This really is an awe inspiring achievement matched by no other supporters group in Scotland.  Everyone is astounded by what the supporters have achieved and we were delighted when the RSEA won fundraising group of the year for Scotland in 2011.  Thank you to everyone for really improving the quality of life of our veterans, well done to all!”

We would like to thank all the Rangers fans who have helped or contributed to Erskine.  Thanks also to Rangers Football Club, Rangers staff and management, players and Ex-Players who have supported the appeal.  Special thanks also goes to;
